This page details the equipment you’ll need to obtain when working in GP Land.
Before you buy anything check the following with the practice manager:
- Does the practice have any equipment you can borrow from the practice? – Some practices provide you initially with a doctors bag and equipment.
- Is there a larger discount by ordering through the practice (some practices join together and get larger discounts on equipment)

You will need to have access to the following:
- BNF
- BNF for Children
- Stethoscope
- Ophthalmoscope
- Auroscope
- Pulse oximeter
- Thermometer
- Urinary dipsticks
- Peak flow meter and disposable mouthpieces
- Blood test and microscopy forms
- Red and white top bottles
- Needles for injection
- Syringes
- PPE – mask gloves and apron
- Orange bags for clinical waste
