Work Place Based Assessments – General Practice Life

For each placement, you’ll have to complete a set of assessments. Below are the set minimum requirements for each post.

You can either send your assessor a link to complete the assessment via ePortfolio or fill out directly on ePortfolio.

GPST1:

For your first 6 month hospital block:

Case-based Discussion (CbD) x 3 (6 per year)
Multi-Source Feedback (MSF) x1 [5 clinicians of ranging seniority]
Clinical Evaluation Exercise (MiniCEX) x3
Clinical Supervisors Report (CSR) x1
Learning Log (Reflections 1-2/week)
- Make sure you add links to your learning log to show curriculum coverage
- Once your trainer has read your reflections, they can add their own links to competencies framework. This is important towards the end of your year when you do your self assessment.
Personal Development Plan (PDP)

The same set of assessments for your second 6 month hospital block:

As mentioned above, with each year you also have to show evidence of competences, using the range of assessments/supervisor report/learning logs.

Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ) x1 [This consists of 40 returned patient questionnaires]
Consultation Observation Tool (COT) x3 [These are video consultations reviewed with your trainer]
Clinical Supervisors Report (CSR) x1
Learning Log (Reflections 1-2/week)
Personal Development Plan (PDP)
36 Hours of Out of Hours work.
- You have to record the out of hours work done as a learning log
- Title each log as to how many hours covered/total required.
- Upload the out of hours sheet to that learning log.
